NICHIDO minerals precision eye pencil

During my last visit at watson, I came across the Nichido stand and  noticed a new product in their eye pencils collection. Since i was on the look out for a great eye liner, i decided to give this one a try.  I bought 2 shades. Chesnut brown for my brows and Black ebony to define my eyes. As soon as I used them I was wowed by it soft and creamy consistency which gives me so much ease during application {no need to tug your eyelids because it do glides easily} . You must apply it on your brow very lightly because it really has this amazing pigmentation.

 do like about Nichido minerals precision eye pencil:

  • creamy consistency and a bit soft that's why it's very easy to apply
  • amazing pigmentation
  • affordable

do hate:

  • smudge off easily
  • some traces goes to my crease after several hours of wearing {without primer}
will i repurchase?
  • yes. the fact that it is very pigmented and glides on easily on my lids and has super affordable price, this eye pencil is a winner for me.

Bobbie Nail Polish Hot Collection in patent blue

Whenever i feel bored, sad, lazy, tired..one of my fave perk-me-up is a good mani and pedi. Over the years, i have perfected giving myself a manicures and pedicures at home. DIY mani and pedi is like a therapy to me. not only does it releases stress it also helps me save money since i like changing nail colors weekly. Imagine how much will it cost me if i will have it done weekly in the salon..yay! magrereklamo for sure si husband.

Yesterday, while watching afternoon teledrama, i glanced at my nails and found my purple nail polish chipping off. Damn. I hate chipped off nails. I took my mani-pedi stash, grabbed the bottle of bobbie nail polish remover and a small cotton ball and removed all pesky traces of my old nail polish. After checking my stash, i decided to give my nails a color that will perfectly match the cold, rainy weather..blue! so i choose bobbie nail polish hot collection in patent blue. It's basically a traditional royal blue color which i love because it compliments on my skin.

Among the local brands of nail polish, Bobbie is what i like best especially their hot collections. Aside from being inexpensive {cost only Php 32.50}, i think they are the one more likely to be toxin free because they don't contain toluene, formaldehyde and dibutyl phthalate.

Just a few FYI regarding the three common toxic nail polish ingredients:

Toluene
Toluene is a human reproductive and developmental toxin. It may affect the nervous system with symptoms like tiredness, confusion, weakness, drunken-type actions, and memory loss. It is thought to cause liver damage and skin irritation. In high levels it may affect the kidneys. Toluene has been linked to birth defects in laboratory animals.

Formaldehyde
Formaldehyde is a carcinogen and a common indoor air pollutant because its resins are used in many construction materials. Formaldehyde has caused cancer in the nose and throats of lab animals. Inhaling the fumes can result in watery eyes, headache, burning in the throat, and labored breathing.

Dibutyl Phthalate
Phthalates are used to soften plastic, and are known to affect hormone function. Studies have linked phthalates to early puberty in girls and low sperm counts in men. Environmental groups claim phthalate exposure may contribute to the rising number of uterine problems in women and testicular cancer in men. It could also be one of the contributing factors to a rise in infertility in both sexes. Repeated and heavy exposure to dibutyl phthalate may cause nausea and/or vomiting, tearing of the eyes, dizziness, and headache. Long-term exposures may cause damage to kidneys and the liver. Pregnant women must consider that dibutyl phthalate may harm the developing fetus and the male testes.

My first batch of NYX round lipstick

I heard massive raves about NYX round lipsticks so i decided to purchase several tubes to try. Unfortunately, NYX is not available at any local department stores or drugstores. You can only purchase them through online sellers. I got mine at www.digitaltraincase.multiply.com for only Php 160 per tube. Among online sellers, i think sila yung may cheapest price of NYX RLS. My transaction with digital traincase was very smooth and fast. I received my package thru Xend 24 hours after payment! That's pretty amazing!
{Tea Rose, B52, Orange Soda, Honey}

 Here's what these shades looks like when applied on my bare lips. Pardon me for not preparing for this photo shoot. I was just really excited to try these lippies on kaya nakalimutan kong mag powder man lang. LOL!  Deadma na lang yung oily face please!!

I find them too soft and buttery but really pigmented and smooth. I love the colors except for orange soda kasi mahirap syang iblend sa lips. Honey is totally a great nude color BUT I have to make sure to put my make up on if i dont want to look like a sick person suffering from hypoglycemia. :D

E.L.F. The Beauty Encyclopedia Eye Edition

Today I will be talking about one of my fave elf products, the beauty encyclopedia eye edition. This compact includes 12 neutral eye shadow shades, 2 cream neutral eye shadow shades, 1 black eye liner and 1 eyeshadow brush. I got this at a drugstore for only Php 399.75. This is a very neutral pallet with perfect colors for everyday eyes and of course for those ladies like me who love wearing a no makeup makeup look.
The following photos that you are about to see are the swatches i made from this product.

first layer - i am not a big fan of a smokey eye look that's why i seldom use these shades except for the white which i use in the inner corner of my eye for highlight.

Ellana Mineral Cosmetics: Oil absorbing finishing powder

My first experience about MMU was kinda disappointing. The Avon mineral pressed powder that i tried caused me some break outs. Since then, i had this thought that maybe mmu was not hiyang to my skin. But one mmu local brand proved me wrong and that is Ellana Mineral Cosmetics. I bought this oil absorbing mineral finishing powder at their stall in SM marikina but their products can also be purchase online on their website www.ellanaminerals.com
Their mineral finishing powder comes in three different types: super sparkle (creamy and iridiscent shimmering powder) available in the shades of pink flamingo/yellow submarine/peach passion, translucent (suitable for all skin types), and oil absorbing (for extra oily skin, contains mattifying minerals & controls acne) both available in the shades of espresso con panna/almond coffee cream/raspberry cappucino. I have an oily skin so i chose the oil absorbing formula and almond coffee cream is the closest shade to my skin tone.

I was really surprised on how my skin loves this finishing powder. It really gives me a super natural matte finish plus no break out! :)
